The customs
coming into France took literaly 2 seconds and so did baggage claiming
but we couldn’t figure out where the exist was until we realized
that SORTIE meant exit. We got out of the airport and drove home with
Monique. Later we went and saw the Louvre (outside only) which is very
near the apartment that we live in. We also saw the Arch de Triumph and
The obelisk thigus. French people smoke a lot, and they talk in French. The
apartment is really nice all though everything (literally) is slanted
one way or another. If you walk in circles you will encounter steps going
one direction constantly but none going the other direction. |

I woke up
at 6 today and started writing this journal, then I took some pictures
of chimneys cause' they were cool. Then at 7 I fell asleep again. I was
rudely awakened at 9:30 and forced to leave my bed and eat breakfast.
We then left with Stefan to go see stuff, we walked down the waterfront
to the boat-bus (BatoBus) station where we boarded it and went to the
big fountainy thing in front of the Eifel tower and the we ate at some
French restaurant. The food was really really good. Afterwards, we went
down to the eifel tower but then decided not to go up because the lines
were waaay too long. We walked past the tower and caught up with Stefan
and rode the boat bus back to the Louvre and went back to the apartment
because Marion forgot her video camera. We got it and rode the boat bus
down the Senne to the big churchy thing (a.k.a. Notre Dame) and took pictures
of the really really really pretty pictures of the stained glass windows
and we heard someone sing really really well.We also realized the we were
running late for our dinner apointment so we took the boat bus (again)
and then ran home. We were barely in time and we got in the car and rode
off to their apartment. The people had two boys, one 15 the other 14,
both shy and weird and annoying. During dinner (lasagna) they pretty much
didnt say anything and we just rambled on about school etc. Then we went
to the Eifel tower which was very crowded. When we finally got out of
line and up the elevators to the third floor it was 10:30 (Sameera and
the younger guy didnt go to the top because of Sameeras fear of heights.
In five minutes time daniela started telling me to get down from the top
but i didnt go because i needed more pictures. After taking 7-8 more pictures
I went down the tower to the second floor where sameera was waiting. I
waited with them for a while until the older guy came down without marion
and daniella, after 10 minutes we figured that they went down without
us so we climbed down and waited for 20 minutes before they showed up.
Then there was some arguing and we went home and i sleep now. |

Today we saw
PRETTY MUCH NOTHING. We walked around with daniellas grandmother who is
not the nicest person, she caused us to miss early admission to the Louve.
We saw the pompidous center from the outside and 2 random churches. We
also saw Notre Dame again and some gardens. It was a pretty wastefull
day in my opinion.. |
June 14 |
We saw muse
D'Orasy whith all its picassos and monets. I took longer than everybody
else because I took pictures so Danielas Grandma just abandoned me. I
had fun looking at all the cool stuffs. Then I went and saw the photography
collection while they went home. Later i went down to the train station
and took pictures. |

We saw the

famous paintings and such. |

Train to Bern
|
June 17 |
Today i woke
up somewhat late so i missed part of breakfast. I consumed quite a few
eggs and then i used the internet for a couple of minutes until our chaperones
arrived. I was then forced to leave cyberspace and say hi to our chaperones
for the next two days. |
June 18 |
Today we took
a train to some middle of nowhere town to see a papailorama which was
basically a giant greenhouse full of butterflys. I found it quite boring.Luckily
there was another building attached which was very dark inside and full
of interesting night critters. The coolest part was a cave full of bats
that you could just walk into. The bats were flying in and out of it and
all around you. It was pretty coolish. Afterwards we just went home and
basically did nothing for the rest of the day. |
June 19 |
Today we got
a tour of bern from our chaperones. It was quite interesting we saw some
protest and i bought a swiss army knife. We turned in early and got our
luggwe and waited for stephan to come and puck us up with the rental car.
He arrived 30 minutes late (as usuall) and we had to wait for daniella
to come back because she had gone looking for him. Anyway, she got back
a couple of minutes later and we loaded up the car and left for beatenberg. We
arrived in beatenberg sometime later and we checked into the hotel there
which was somewhat fancy and then we promptly fell asleep. |
June 20 |
Today we climbed
up the neitherhorn which is the resident mountain in beatenberg. It was
quite a hike but we made it up (Marion only went up half way and then
she took the tram). hte view on top was pretty spectacular. |

We got up
pretty early in the morning and took a train to Florence which was nifty
and all. We passed through Peru on the way there which was quite a surprise.
Once we got to florence we had quite a hard time finding a taxi that would
fit 4 teenagers 1 chapperone and the heap of luggage belongning to the
afformentioned. But we eventually found a taxi driver that would try.
he managed to fit all the luggage in and recieved a round of applause
from the bystanders as he did so. Then we had dinner ont the cool mountain
thing |

Today was
another one of those lazy days. We stood in line for the duomo all morning
but once we got there it was pretty nifty. We climbed up the inside of
the dome and we sall all sorts of cool stuff from the top. On the way
down i slid down the banisters which was an interesting experience since
they curved down a lot. Then we went to see the actual inside of the church.
The floors were highly polished and it was possible to slide over ten
feet if you got a running start. Then we went to see the batistry (which
i didnt enter) and i stood outside and figured out that euro coins have
verying designs and started collecting them in ernest. Sameera also bought
a fan from one of the street vendors. Street vending in florence is illegal
without a permit so most of the street vendors have their merchandise
attached to a cardboard folder which they close if the cops come by. We
went into the duomo museum and saw the La Pieta and I promptly broke Sameeras
new fan. |
June 23 |
We saw the
some cool church and we got batman suits than we saw the pont de veccio
which is a bridge that probably has a couple billion dollars worth of
jewelery on it. We also saw the uffizi which wasnt that interesting.churchy
thing w/ batman suits uffizi and pont de veccio |

venice train
walking aroiund 2 see churches and san marco 4 dinner we saw a couple
of churches and we went to san marco for dinenr it was spiffy, daniella
dosent know hoe to drag a suitcase. |
June 26 |
Today we saw
Murano which is an island that is full of glass blowing shops. On the
way there we all got tickets for being on the boat illegaly. It was hillarious. Then
later we went swimming on the lido island it was the fun but i lost my
watch. |
June 27 |
We saw san
marco and i tried to find the national archives, which happened to be
in a totally diferent part of venice, they were closed so i went into
this cool church and drew the floor. |
June 28 |
We went to
some island in some lake and saw a big castle. It was unfinished as all
the other castles we went to but it had some prety cool things like an
elevator that lifted a table full of food throught the floor. There was
also an elevator for the kings chamber pot. Then we went to some other
island where we ate food. I wanted to go sailing but that didn’t
go over too well with the rest of the gang so we (we being me) went swimming
for a while and then it started raining and thundering and i was like
w00t. Then it stopped raining and I got out and everybody else went and
got in. They swam for a while and then we all got out and went to the
dock except there was no boat to take us back. We ran around the island
until we got to the other dock which and we just cought the last boat
off the island. Unfortunately it was going the wrong way so we ended up
on the opposite shore of the lake. So opa got a taxi while we ate food
and he drove the car back and we all went home. |
June 29 |
We saw noin
shwein stain, it was on top of a hill which we most unfortunately had
to walk up.The castle was pretty much the same as all of louis's other
castles, it had rooms which took years to make and cost milions and I
had a stomachache so I didn’t really care. The one cool thing was
a man-made cave in the middle of the castle. We then walked down the hill
and i got a german hotdog. Then we drove to some small lake in which i
did not want to swim but Daniella did, i fell in up to my knees when trying
to walk on a log. I also caught a crawdad. Then we went to some little
town where i walked into a stop sign. They had plain houses but all of
them had like fancy windowsills and doors and stuff painted on. I still
had a stomachache so i sat down and ate some ice cream which didnt help
too much. So we decided to go home. |
June 30 |
Today we saw
the summer palace in Munich, it was quite boring and we decided to go
walking in the gardens but we promptly lost Marci, Daniella and Opa. So
we just sat around and talked until she found us again and we all went
to see the botanical garden which was pretty cool. Then we ate lunch and
went home. Later we went to a beergardent and ate stuff. |
July 1 |
We got up
aearly and went to the train only to realize that we were in the smoker
section. I commandered some seats in a diferent secion and we spent the
next 9 hours bored on a train, whatevah. When we got to paris we wenbt
to a carnival which was somewhaty boring except for the niftyfull ferris
wheerl which sameera was very scared on. Then we sleepeded. |
July 2 |
We got up
in the morning and we got to the airport without any problems and we got
on the plane and we got home. |
